The Manitoba and Newfoundland and Labrador regulatory agencies are working with the Canadian Alliance of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Regulators (CAASPR) to standardize registration processes for both Canadian and international applicants. Foreign trained graduates and applicants intending to register and become practicing Audiologists or Speech-Language Pathologists in Manitoba or Newfoundland and Labrador are required to register with CAASPR at: https://caaspr.ca/user/login
ENTRY TO PRACTICE EXAMINATION REQUIREMENT
Successfully completing and passing a qualifying entry-to-practice examination is a regulatory requirement in most Canadian provinces. In November 2020, CAASPR oversaw the inaugural delivery of the Canadian Entry-To-Practice (CETP) examination. The next CETP examination is currently scheduled for June 2021.
Those seeking full professional practice registration in both Manitoba or Newfoundland and Labrador are required to complete the CETP exam.
MANITOBA – COVID RELATED EXAMINATION AND REGISTRATION ADJUSTMENTS
Due to exceptional COVID-19 circumstances, in Manitoba, the regulatory agency - CASLPM has currently elected to postpone examination requirements and offers all eligible graduates the ability to obtain provisional registration prior to completing the CETP exam. Should the CETP exam be required in the next 12 months, all provisionally registered members, after March 1, 2020, and all other new applicants will be notified of the need to register, write and pass the CETP examination.
NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR – TEMPORARY REGISTRATION
In Newfoundland and Labrador, temporary registration is available for new graduates while they are waiting to write or receive the results of the CETP exam. For further information on temporary registration please contact:
