The Canadian Alliance of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Regulators (CAASPR) is a national coalition of regulators of the professions of audiology and speech – language pathology across Canada.

The Alliance members work together on matters which support the regulatory mandate of each provincial jurisdiction to protect the public interest in a consistent national approach.

CAASPR’S CENTRALIZATION AND CAPACITY-BUILDING PROJECT

In October 2016, CAASPR was awarded funding from Employment and Social Development Canada to undertake a series of initiatives under the umbrella of the “Centralization and Capacity-Building Project for Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists”. Entry-To-Practice Exam for Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (CETP)

Most provinces in Canada have a provincial regulatory body responsible for licensing and regulation of the professions of audiology and speech-language pathology.  Effective April 1, 2020, all applicants to Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia will be required to write the CETP Exam as one part of the licensing process.  Ontario and Alberta are in the process of transitioning to this step.  The exam will not be required for applicants to Quebec....
